The speaker spotlight for week eight is on Ms. Grace Soyao and Mr. Bob Waite of Self Care Catalysts Inc.:
Grace Soyao is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Self Care Catalysts Inc., a patient intelligence company.
She has more than 20 years of international and North American experience in commercial strategy and research, working with most of the world's biggest pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods companies.
Grace had the opportunity to launch, build and grow brands in the areas of pharmaceutical prescription products, OTC and consumer packaged goods. She has extensive experience in New Product Launches, Joint Ventures, Strategic Alliances, Partnerships and Consumer Marketing.
Grace is a lifelong learner, a problem solver, a seriously curious and tenacious individual who ventures into various pursuits beyond her professional industry. She received Executive education from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto and a Bachelors Degree from the University of the Philippines.
Bob Waite is the Senior Vice President of Self Care Catalysts Inc., a patient intelligence company.
He has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, strategy and research, working in consumer health, consumer packaged goods and pharma. Bob's experience spans business, management and marketing at senior levels in both large and mid-size companies mostly in healthcare related industries. In his current role at Self Care Catalysts, Bob works as a Client Relations Manager/Project Manager/Strategist for some of the major pharmaceutical and healthcare companies.
Bob has an innate curiosity for understanding'why' and the impact of business decisions. His education includes an Engineering Degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Ivey Business School.
As speakers on Day 1 of the 2013 Fall Conference, Grace and Bob will be presenting Health as a Paradox: We all know what to do, but we don't do it. Why? Is the consumer actually health-driven? What drives their behaviour? There is an opportunity for marketers to influence consumer behaviour more actively by understanding the consumer within the broader aspects of health management, not just disease treatment. We will explore six dimensions of decision-making, including Experience, Psycho-Social, Quality of Life, Knowledge, Influencers and Supporters, and Decision Conflicts. By understanding these factors, marketers will be better equipped to influence consumer purchase decisions.
